Learn the behind-the-scenes leadership and management skills to pull off major sporting events, handle team media and legal demands, budget for sports programs and negotiate the business deals that drive collegiate and professional athletics.

Sports Management Undergraduate Programs

Sports Management Minor

Available for non-BSBA students, this 18-unit minor requires two foundation courses in economics and accounting. Then you’ll choose 12 units from a course list that fascinates any sports enthusiast, such as Life Cycle of Elite Athletes, Sports Negotiation and Compliance, Sports Marketing Management and Business of College Sports.

Sports Management Certificate

A nine-unit program for Eller students, this certificate adds sports management expertise to enhance an Eller BSBA degree. You’ll take three courses from a list of eight options that cover essential behind-the-scenes aspect of sports—like Sports Tourism and Event Management and Sports Communication. You’ll end with a certificate that makes your business degree stand out in the sports career arena.

Sports and Society Concentration

UA students majoring in General Studies (earning a BGS degree) can earn a Sports and Society Concentration by completing Basic Economic Issues and Survey of Accounting, then taking the sports management course of your choice. It’s a great way to differentiate your degree and explore the possibilities in the sports management career realm.
