Bio

Thirty-seven years in college athletics as a coach, Academic Dean and Athletic Director.  A three sport high school student-athlete and two sport student-athlete at California State University-Chico, a Division II University, while on a full-ride academic scholarship. 

 A three time NCAA All-American in Track and Field, named the Most Valuable Student Athlete at Chico in 1977 and elected as a student body officer.  I hold a BS in Kinesiology/Physical Education, pre-Physical Therapy (background in math, physical and biological sciences).  I earned an MS in PE/Kinesiology, specializing in Biomechanics at University of Arizona.  I hold an Ed. D. in Educational Administration from California Coast University. 

I coached fourteen years at UA from 78-91 in the track and field jumping, multi-events and javelin and was a USA Olympic Coach/Manager for the1996 Olympics in Atlanta.  

For twenty years I was the Dean/AD of the College of Human Performance and Development at Solano College.   I was selected as President of the California Community College Athletic Directors Association (CCCADA) and served as President of the National Alliance of Two-Year Collegiate Athletic Administrators  (NATYCAA).   I was a member of the Executive Council of  the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) and have been inducted into five Halls of Fame as a student-athlete and athletic administrator – CSU-Chico, Solano College, CCCADA, NATYCAA and NACDA. 

I am currently retired and volunteer coaching at the University of Arizona.
